Welcome Space is a new studio nestled between rainforest and beach in Hallidays Point. Offering a creative sanctuary for the community to practice and awaken the full potential of the human mind, body and spirit.
Our intention is to inspire our community by offering ways to connect to self through movement, breath and nature. Through a diverse range of classes, workshops and events, we endeavour to create a nurturing hub for our community to unite and celebrate life.
We are a loving family run business, aspiring to inspire all walks of life to lead enriched lives through physical, mindful and creative practices. Welcome Space has been our vision for our community since moving to Halliday’s Point in 2018. With 25+ year careers in the performing arts and experience teaching dance, yoga and now vibrational therapies, we are committed to share our combined knowledge.
Our beautiful garden studio is situated on Biripi/Worimi country and backs onto the littoral rainforest leading to both Black Head and Shelly beaches. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Gathang speaking people and their elders past, present and future, and we are so grateful to be living and working in this paradise.
We thank you for your support
Kristina & Timothy
Movement, dance and yoga has been at the core of Kristina’s life. With an extraordinary career traveling the world in contemporary dance and choreography for over 25 years, accompanied by a dedicated yoga practice, Kristina is now settled in Hallidays Point. Since landing here in 2018 she has wanted to share with the community her passion and knowledge in dance, performance and yoga focusing on the importance of moving your body for physical, mental and emotional health.
As well as the classes, events and workshops Kristina facilitates at Welcome Space, she hosts an adult dance class once a month in Forster called LET’S DANCE.
Kristina’s teaching encompasses a wealth of body knowledge from a lifetime of dance and yoga practice. She is passionate to facilitate many more experiences through dance, yoga and celebration for her community.
Timothy started tap and music in Brisbane in 1990 before studying dance and acting at QUT, which would see him tour the world performing until landing in Hallidays Point in 2018. With his feet thoroughly grounded he awoke to the secret world of frequency medicine and began studying sonic science with John Stewart Reid andprinciples and practices of vibrational therapies with Jaye Roberts. With a large collection of musical instruments he now integrates movement and sound as a regenerative practice to invoke the human body’s own healing mechanisms and continues to explore sound, the meridian system and the intuitive powers we hold within.
Tenea’s journey with yoga began in 1987, and her passion for sharing this transformative practice has only deepened since she started teaching in 2012. She is a KRI Level 1 International Kundalini Yoga Teacher – Yogi Bhajan, graduated with over 350 hours of Ancient Yoga Teacher Training – Muriel Burttet and has completed over 150 hours of Yoga Therapy. Additionally, Tenea holds the highest certification in teaching yoga to children, teens, and those with special needs, guided by the expertise of Loraine Rushton.
As a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Australia and registered with International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine as a certified Rhythm of Breath Breathwork facilitator and psychotherapist, Tenea blends the profound wisdom she has gathered from studying with renowned teachers across the globe. Her trauma-informed approach offers a comprehensive path to holistic well-being, weaving together movement, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, and life guidance to support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
Students are drawn to Tenea’s classes not only for her deep knowledge and clear teaching style but also for her calm, nurturing presence. Her approach invites you to reconnect with your true self and embrace a life filled with balance, resilience, and joy.
